Celebrating India’s Olympic Glory at Paris 2024
Our beloved India has sent a remarkable team of 117 athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympics, spanning from July 26 to August 11. Competing in 69 events across 16 sports – including archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and tennis – our athletes are making us proud.
Highlights of India’s Sporting Achievements
- Neeraj Chopra: The javelin star, who captured our hearts with gold at Tokyo 2020, is here to make another historic mark.
- PV Sindhu, Mirabai Chanu, Lovlina Borgohain, and Harmanpreet Singh lead our Olympic heroes, showcasing their strength and determination.
- Avinash Sable, Aman Sehrawat, and our hockey warriors are also striving to add to India’s cherished medal tally.
Historic Wins: India’s Golden Moments at Paris 2024
Manu Bhaker has made history by winning India’s first-ever Olympic shooting medal, securing bronze in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol. She later clinched a mixed team 10m Air Pistol bronze with Sarabjot Singh, becoming the first Indian to win two medals at a single Olympics – a remarkable feat!
India’s Olympic legacy includes:
- Norman Pritchard’s dual silvers in Paris 1900
- KD Jadhav’s wrestling bronze in Helsinki 1952
- Karnam Malleswari’s weightlifting gold in Sydney 2000
- Abhinav Bindra’s individual gold in Beijing 2008
